Simulate C codes with circuit in PROTEUS - Debug your complete project

PROTEUS software gives you great opportunity to debug your C-codes with circuit diagram. In this topic we will discuss that how to debug and simulate compete project.

Although most of the tools supported by proteus, however you should check your compiler is in proteus list or not. Fist of all manually configure your compiler. Click on "Source" then click on "Define Code Generation Tools, given below window will be appear.

I am using PIC microcontroller so i added my compiler MCC18. Click on "New" button to add your compiler manually.
The second you would be make your circuit diagram, add source file to your microcontroller. Double click on your controller in schematic a microcontroller properties window will appear, click on "Open file" button. and then add .cof file (a different type of format can be for different type compiler) generated by your compiler for your project and click on "OK" button.

Your schematic should be as per your codes, i mean same microcontroller, same system pulse oscillator and other components properties should be match with your program.

Now the time is simulate the codes, click on "Step" Button in left down or click on "Source" menu and click on "Start/Restart Debugging" button.

You can see your C-codes hare in a window and display step position in codes widow also. Debugging relative buttons are given up right side in code window and "Source Menu". You can see components terminals logic and can control/change animated components like push buttons are given in this schematic.
